Caritas Wu Cheng-Chung Secondary School

To echo with the United Nations, Caritas Wu cheng-chung Secondary School (CWCCSS) was celebrating the International Day of Peace on the 21st September, 2018. A series of activities were carried out to promote peace and fairness among peoples and nations.

Students at CWCCSS come from more than 10 countries. In such an international campus, the spirit of peace, fairness, love and unity can be realized.

During the morning assembly, there was a short sharing to the whole school. To show their concern, participants posted their little cards on the display boards at recess. Also, some avid students made decorations displaying the word ‘PEACE’ at the tuck shop area so that all participants could take snapshots with it during lunch time and later posted them on social media. This was to arouse the awareness of people around the world.  The highlight was the chorus performed by both teachers and students. What a meaningful day it is!

Chan Sui Ki (La Salle) Primary School, Hong Kong

We encouraged our students, teachers and lay-partners to ignite our hearts of PEACE. There are origami, prayer service, colouring and design competition, movie screening to seek peace in our own hearts, in our homes and with our friends and neighbours.

Peace

“Peace is Flowing like a River, Flowing for you and Me” the whole world is looking upto leaders of the countries for achieving Peace. People like to see others bringing peace to world. Naturally, because people develop their mind set that Peace comes from Leaders of the Nation or Political peace. But the fact is that Peace start from within a Person. Even if there is political turmoil, peace could be achieved within the heart of the Person. Outside disturbance is only a triggering factor to disturb the peace within. People who give into such attitudes, get trapped by confusion and problematic attitude which results in loss of Peace. Peace is from within a Person and never agree to agree with disturbed attitude.  Peace is just flowing like the river. Allow the river of Peace to flow in you.

Activity Title

Soccer For Peace

Brief on Activity

“Soccer for Peace is one of the ‘Peace is Possible’ projects of Junior Chamber International Victoria aiming to unite children of different cultures in their shared love of soccer. Perhaps more than any other sports, soccer is used as a catalyst for positive change all over the world. Going beyond simply kicking a ball, soccer is a universal language that can cross boundaries and break down barriers. It is a wonderful testament to the global appeal of a game which can so easily connect people of different nationalities, ethnicities and backgrounds. United in their love of the game, participants in our programs could form relationships, establish trust and build respect among teammates and antagonists. With this as our guiding principle, Soccer for Peace believes that soccer can serve as both a metaphor and vehicle for peace in our time. Junior Chamber International Victoria has initiated Soccer For Peace programs to promote peace advocacy, support communities, and to establish a culture of peace among individuals of all races, communities and organisations. Soccer For Peace aims to support the future of children, youth, and their leadership as agent’s peaceful change in their communities. We seek collaborations with other global organisations and government ministries in order to maximize program impact without wasting
resources.”

I took this wonderful photo as I was amazed on how two different people with different races came together and looked at the same thing and even though there was a communication barrier they still don’t mind showing their feeling on how they feel about the lantern riddle but this didn’t bother them at all

Its amazing how to see different how different races comes and appreciate different cultures and enjoy their stories I wish all people can learn from these two young kids that language doesn’t matter and different races doesn’t matter as long as you guys are willing to accept and understand their culture .

In the picture, there are my schoolmates who are starting a race. Most of the contestants have different nationality with different skin colours. They are competing against each other.

The reason I chose this photo is because in this photo, I see peace and love. Even we come from different countries and we have different skin colours, we can still stand fair match in the same place.

This picture also shows how we could be celebrating for humanity.
